Family Read Night at DeKalb West

Thursday, September 17th at 3:00 to 5:00 p.m.

Meet Chester!

Chester, middle Tennessee’s loveable therapy dog, will be on hand (paws) September 17th for Family Read Night at DeKalb West at 3:00 p.m.  Doctor Barbara, Chester’s owner, will read Chester the Chesapeake, which is written from the dog’s point of view and uses real pictures to tell his story and to teach children about being courteous, kind, and responsible.

Besides Doctor Ebel encouraging children to read, she will highlight the benefits of bringing together children, dogs and books, and a little about therapy dogs.

After reading other wonderful children’s books, there will be time for more petting and Chester’s book will be available to purchase, with a paw signing by the author!

Meet Chester beforehand at his own web site:   http://www.chesterthechesapeake.com

Chester the Chesapeake

- A Children’s Book - by Barbara Ebel MD

Chester won’t mince woofs.  From his point of view, he counts on his happy home where he can dig and run and swim.

Just about the time Chester’s got life by the paws, a huge dog arrives as well as a small kitten.

Heavens to pets!  Life just isn’t the same any more.  But Chester makes the most of it to become a very special therapy dog.
